Angela Jean Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Brodhead – Angela Jean Smith, age 56, passed away on February 7, 2022 while at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Angela was born on December 25, 1965 in California, the daughter of Samuel and Lila (Balls) George. She married Scott on January 24th, 1987 in Colorado. Angela was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Monroe since they moved here in 2014. Angela was very strong in her Catholic faith, her main goal on earth was to make sure all of her children went to heaven. She encouraged her six children to always stay close to God and never to leave the church. Angela enjoyed being a stay at home mother and spending as much time with her kids and grandkids as possible. Angela loved being involved in all of her children’s lives and always encouraged them to follow what they were passionate about. Angela and her husband Scott recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on January 24th. Their marriage was a testament to true love and commitment to each other. Angela brought joy to everyone she came across with her infectious smile and contagious laugh. She would always find a way to make everyone’s day better. Angela enjoyed playing ping pong, painting, shopping, and telling you what you “should have done” in a situation you will probably never be in again. Angela had the best sense of humor and passed that down to her children. Angela had the gift of always being able to see the good in people and bringing it out of them. Angela was the definition of selfless, she dedicated all of her time and effort to her children. Angela spent her entire life bringing others to God and pouring out her love onto others. Angela will forever be remembered as the best mother and wife anyone could ever ask for, she was a walking example of what sacrifice truly is. Everyone considered Angela their best friend because of how genuine and willing to listen she was. Angela would always find a way of solving your problems, whatever they might of been. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. Angela is survived by her husband, Scott; her mother, Lila George; 6 children, Lila Smith, Seth (Cayla) Smith, Rachel Smith, Anastasia Smith, David Smith and Faustina Smith; 6 grandchildren, Annika Smith, Adrian Smith, Damian Smith, Ava Smith, Teresa Smith and Scarlett Smith; 7 siblings, Sam (Haunani) George, Rory George, Mary (Ron) Kuhn, James George, Melinda (Allen) Wilson and Monica Carr and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Angela was preceded in death by her father, Samuel George and her brother, Chris George. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family in her memory. A visitation will be held at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at St. Clare of Assissi Parish in Monroe on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a visitation also at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.
