Angeline "Angie" Martha (Mader) Stelter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Angeline �Angie� Stelter, age 79, of Brodhead, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Agrace Hospice in Janesville, WI. She was born on May 6, 1936 in LaCrosse, WI, the daughter of F. Joseph and Esther (Krunkelfeld) Mader. She married Alton Stelter on May 22, 1954 in LaCrosse. He passed away on October 27, 2007. Angie graduated from Aquinas High School, LaCrosse. Following her marriage, she and her husband moved to the Afton area in 1961 and then to Orfordville, WI in 1978. Angie became the librarian at the Orfordville Public Library for 20 years, retiring in 2001. She was a book lover. She was a reader who enjoyed getting people of all ages reading and would work so hard to find items to tempt reluctant readers. She would find and keep special items aside for a patron she knew was due in soon. Angie was always involved with the making of the float for the �June-Days� parade to promote the library and the summer reading program. She was happiest with the little readers and babies. After retiring, she and Al enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and attending the grandchildren's music, sports and FFA functions, and, of course, reading. Angie is survived by five children, Steven, Saline, MI, Robin (Thomas) Langer, Evansville, WI, Timothy (Sarah), Eric (Mary) and Lynn (Barry) Whitrock, all of Beloit, WI. She was so proud of her thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, three sister, Janice, Lorrie, Rosemary, a brother, John, and a granddaughter, Jessi. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m, Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. David Frey officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the wonderful people from Agrace Hospice in Janesville. You were all so good to Angie both at the house and Agrace. Her passing was so peaceful because of your love and caring. We expect Mom and Dad are in a porch swing with coffee and a cigarette, watching the birds. It was one of their favorite things to do.
