Betty May (Jones) Condon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betty May Jones Condon, age 96, of Brodhead, passed away on Monday, September 19th, 2016, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI. She was born on July 30th, 1920 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Stanley P. and Alta B. (Smith) Jones. She married Donald Marion Condon, Sr. on September 2nd, 1944 in Portland, ME. He passed away on November 18th, 2011. Betty graduated from Brodhead High School in 1939. She attended Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Freeport, IL and graduated with an RN degree. Following graduation, she worked at the Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL, and several other hospitals, as well as at the M. W. Stuessy Clinic in Brodhead. Later, she became a nursing instructor for Blackhawk Technical College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Brodhead, the Eastern Star, D.A.R., the Legion Auxiliary, served as the Red Cross nurse for Green County, organizer for the Brodhead Blood Drive, and the White Gift where her grandfather, J. Lloyd Smith, was one of the founders. She is survived by her two sons, Donald M. Condon, Jr., Houston, TX, Jon (Susan) Condon, Beloit, WI; five grandchildren; Kelly Condon, Nicole (Chad) Williamson, Travis Condon, all of Houston, TX, Douglas (Elsa) Condon, Juneau, WI, Bryan (Rachell) Condon, Beloit, WI; and three great grandchildren; Caroline Williamson, Nora and Knox Condon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, a sister, Mary Lu Meils and daughter-in-law, Linda Marie Condon. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P. M., Sunday, September 25th, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, Brodhead, WI, with Pastor Krystal Goodger officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead, WI. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24th, 2016, from 3 to 5 P.M. at the D. L. Newcomer Funeral Home, Brodhead. A memorial fund will be established.
