Eric "Ike" John Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eric �Ike� J. Johnson, age 82, of Brodhead, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 21, 1930 in Beloit, WI, the son of Joseph and Fern (Knudson) Johnson. He married his best friend and love of his life, Donna Hartl at St. Paul�s Catholic Church, Evansville, WI, on August 6, 1955. Ike attended Brodhead schools and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by General Motors as a pipe fitter for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He loved riding Harley Davidson�s, raising cattle and horses, selling produce at the family produce stand, and spending time with his family. Ike was a jokester and loved playing practical jokes and telling far-fetched stories. He was looking forward to his favorite holiday, April Fool�s Day. He is survived by his wife, Donna, Brodhead; two daughters, Sheila Johnson, Tomah, WI, Shelley Johnson, Waunakee, WI; four sons, Eric �Ike Jr.� (Sheryl), Mike (Anne), Russ (Daphne), all of Brodhead, Ron (Teresa), Albany, WI; seventeen grandchildren; and a sister, Jean (James) Steuri, Brodhead. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Delos and Wilbur Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Brodhead, with Father Michael Moon presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time services at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Evansville, WI. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family is requesting memorials be given for Mass in memory of Ike.�
