Gloria Mae (LeRoy) Schils Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gloria Mae Schils, age 89, of Brodhead, formerly of Cedarburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at St. Mary�s Hospital, Janesville, WI. She was the daughter of John and Evelyn (Thiermann) LeRoy. She married Gregory W. Schils on November 25, 1950 in Sheboygan. He passed away on December 16, 2005. Gloria graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1941. She had worked for The Kohler Co., of Kohler, WI, and also Simplicity Mfg, of Port Washington, WI. Gloria and her husband enjoyed many wonderful years together at their cottage, �The Happy Shack� on Little Bay de Noc, in Michigan. They did a lot of cross country skiing on trails in the Cedarburg area, as well as many wonderful trips locally and abroad. She had the ability to write in such a fashion that her family always told her she missed her calling of being an author. Gloria also had a great love of all animals - no matter how big or small - and in the course of her life, had many pets. She is survived by two daughters, Karen �Kari� (Dan) Newcomer, Brodhead, Barbara (Kenneth) Schwalbach, Escanaba, MI; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Edie) LeRoy, Sheboygan Falls, WI, several nieces and nephews, and a very special and devoted friend, Doris Joranlien, Brodhead. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from noon on Saturday until time of services at the funeral home.
