Brodhead - Howard H. Newcomer, age 90, of Monroe, formerly of Brodhead, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Monroe Manor Nursing Home. He was born on April 18, 1919 in Spring Grove Township, Green County, the son of Harold and Mary (Culles) Newcomer. He married Anna Marie Larsen-Anderson on October 17, 1970 in Madison. She passed away on February 20, 2001. Howard had farmed in Spring Grove Township for many years. He was an avid Case tractor enthusiast and had attended Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Brodhead. He is survived by two sons, Keith Newcomer and Curtis (Sharon) Newcomer, both of Brodhead, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Colette. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 5, 2010 at the D.L.NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Cal Schaver officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
