Julie Ann Tessen Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Julie Ann Tessen, 76, of Albany, WI, passed away on February 8, 2022 at Agrace Hospice in Janesville,WI. She was born January 26, 1946, in Beloit, WI, to Robert W. and Kathryn (Goldsworthy) Showers. After graduating from Beloit Memorial High School in 1964, she continued her education and trained to become an X-ray technician in Waukegan, IL. Julie married Eric Tessen Sr. and the couple moved to Michigan where they welcomed four children. She continued her work as an X-ray technician at a number of hospitals in and near Detroit. In her youth, Julie worked at her parents’ A&W restaurant in Beloit. She also played clarinet and was a member of the Beloit Memorial marching band. In her later years, she enjoyed scenic drives on rustic roads, playing board games, coloring, and spending time with her family and friends. In 1990, Julie and her three younger children moved to Monroe, WI, where she continued her medical work. She retired from Wingra Family Medical Center in Madison Wisconsin. A place where she took perhaps the greatest pride in her work, enjoying a great camaraderie with her co-workers and the important work the medical center engaged in. Julie is survived by her children, Marguerite (Margie) Hendrickson, of Ann Arbor, MI; Eric Jr. of Albany, WI; Robert, of Portage, WI; and Joseph (Joe) (Jodi), of Menomonee Falls, WI; four grandchildren (Natalie, Andrew, Rylee and Coralea); a sister, Denise; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Dean (Lisa) of Madison. A luncheon will be held at the American Legion located at 1627 12th Ave Monroe WI 53566 on Saturday Feb 19, 2022 starting at 11:00AM . In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Julie’s name to Agrace.
