Larry "Pete" L. Meinert Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Larry �Pete� Meinert, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at William S. Middleton VA Hospital, Madison, WI. He was born on August 25, 1936, the son of Charles and Ruth (Kuhlmeier) Meinert. Pete was a mechanic and semi-truck driver, having worked for Ryan Corp. and Rock Road, both of Janesville, WI. He enjoyed working with his hands by either building or fixing things. Pete had served in the U.S. Navy and was an honorary member of the Brodhead Airport EAA Chapter 431. He enjoyed his antique tractors and was very proud of his mules. Pete is survived by his long-time companion, Donna Melton, Brodhead, WI; two sons, Ted (Taothong) Meinert, Colorado Springs, CO, Jeff (Tracy Eilenfeldt) Meinert, Johnson Creek, WI; a brother, Brad (Pat) Meinert, Davis, IL; five sisters, Jackie Neisman, Rock City, IL, Joyce Kubaski, Dakota, IL, Linda Ives, Lake Tomahawk, WI, Kay (Jim) Seaton, Brodhead, Charlotte Nemeth, Rockford, IL; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Military rites will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. A buffet for family and friends will be provided at the hospitality room at the Bank of Brodhead following the service.
