Robert J. Fowler

Brodhead - Robert J. Fowler, age 73, of Brodhead, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010, at the William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital, Madison. He was born on January 9, 1937 in Beloit, WI, the son of Everett and Carrie (Burger) Fowler. He had married Judith Fries, who passed away in 1979. Robert was an electrician and worked for Beloit College and General Motors. He was an Air Force Veteran, having served in Korea. He was a past commander of VFW Post 6858 of Brodhead, a member of American Legion in Orfordville, and a life member of Chapter 14 of DVA , Beloit. He loved his dogs, cats, mule, and hunting. He is survived by his children; Kelly Jacobson, Fond du Lac, WI, Everett (Judy) Fowler and Tammy (Mike) Clark, both of Brodhead, Randy Fitzgerald, Beloit, John Fowler, Monroe, a sister, Doris Joranlien, Brodhead, his companion for many years, Karen Kirby, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerton and Clayton Fowler, and a nephew, Donald Fowler. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Tiff Bates officiating. Burial will be in Avon Community Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held from noon on Saturday until time of services at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established.�
