Jean Beverly Hentsch November 5, 1929 -- March 28, 2025 Jean Beverly Hentsch (née Walters), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on March 28, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on November 5, 1929, in Beloit, Wisconsin, Jean lived a life filled with love, music and cherished memories Jean met her Highschool sweet heart Ken, at the age of 16 while attending Beloit High School. Their bond lasted a lifetime, spanning decades of love, adventure, and family. Together, they raised three children: Sandy (Dwaine) Rundle of Madison, WI; Doug (Trudi Jo Halvorson) Hentsch of Middleton, WI; and Janet (Terry) Pickett of Onalaska, WI. Jean was a devoted grandmother to Mitch (Tasha) Rundle of DeForest, KellyPickett of Madison, Wl, Kim (Greg) Jordan of Omaha, NE, and Kevin (Daniella Cos Tovar) Pickett of Chicago, IL, as well as a loving great grandmother to four great grandchildren. Jean had a deep love for music, sharing her talents as a church organist and piano and organ teacher. She played organ for Judson Memorial Baptist Church in Beloit, WI, for 30 years and later served as the organist for 20 years at Sarona United Methodist Church, filling both sanctuaries with beautiful music that touched many hearts. She possessed an extraordinary ability to play most any ballad by ear, bringing joy to those around her with her melodies. Her passion for music was a gift she generously shared with family, friends, and her community. In the 1950s, when Ken was enlisted in the U.S Air Force, Jean stood by his side as they made homes in Newport News, VA, and Germany, embracing each new chapter with grace and resilience. Their first child, Sandra, was born at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. Later, Jean and baby Sandra made the journey to Germany to join Ken, marking the beginning of a special chapter abroad. During their time in Europe, they explored the beauty of Switzerland and the grandeur of Paris, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Notre Dame Cathedral - experiences that remained treasured memories throughout Jean's life. Jean also dedicated many years as an administrative assistant at Beloit Corporation, where her attention to detail and warm spirit left a lasting impact. After retiring 1992, Jean and Ken built their dream home on a lake in Sarona, WI, in 1995. It became the heart of family gatherings, where Christmases were magical, and summers were filled with laughter and love. The home was a place of joy, where generations of family made treasured memories together. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Eddy Walters and Clara Walters. She will be remembered for her kindness, musical talent, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A visitation for Jean will be from 10AM to 11AM with funeral service to follow on Saturday April 5, 2025, at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead, WI at 1105 E. 9th Ave, Brodhead, WI. DL Newcomer Funeral Home in Brodhead is assisting the family.
