Kathleen "Kay" M. (Quaerna) Flynn

Janesville - Kathleen M. �Kay� Flynn, age 68 of Janesville, formerly of Brodhead, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. She was born March 12, 1943, in Janesville, daughter of Ed and Frances �Toddy� (Hess) Quaerna. Beloved wife of 50 years to Jim. Kay graduated from Janesville High School in 1961. She married James Flynn on July 8, 1961. She was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family. Kay had a kind heart who always placed other�s needs before her own. She volunteered for her children's school functions, the White Gift organization and her church. Kay is survived by her husband; six children: Laura (Terry) Fons, Franklin, WI, Jamie (Linda) Flynn, Stoughton, WI, Pamela Kreisler, Madison, WI, Mary (Matt) Koller, Janesville, Tara (Matt) Bratzke, Sussex, WI, Traci (Aloysius) Rohmeyer, Janesville; thirteen grandchildren: Nathan, Lindsay, Steven and Alexandria Fons, Adam and Dylan Flynn, Jordan and Taylor Kreisler, Mitch and Zak Koller, Lauren, Cameron and Addison Bratzke; four brothers: Arnie (Cleo) Quaerna, Columbus, OH, Ed (Connie) Quaerna, Dan (Anne) Quaerna, Jim Quaerna, all of Janesville; two sisters, Jean (Jim) Morrison, Janesville, Carole (Scott) Hatfield,Walworth, WI; best friend Carol (Bud) Eggleston, Beloit; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Oscar �Bo� Quaerna and Donald Quaerna. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. William Catholic Congregation, 456 N. Arch St., Janesville, with Rev. John Auby officiating. Entombment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, and from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials can be made to the Rock County Cancer Coalition. �I may be gone, but I�ll always be here� The family would like to thank Mercy Hospital SCU and 2nd floor staff, and Mercy Hospice for their exceptional care they provided to Kay. A special thank you to Dr. Shekhani and the Mercy Oncology department who treated her like family over the past two years.
